Seems to be Percy William Trett was born in Elveden (according to "Soldiers Died") (Thetford Q4-1884 4B:332) son of Joseph William and Elizabeth TRETT (née DICKERSON) 1891 census...Aged 5 he was at Town Street, Brandon with his father Joseph W Trett [31] carpenter born Brandon; his mother Elizabeth [36] born Thetford; sisters Maud [9], Millicent [4] and Hilda C [1]; brother Frederick I [8 months] All the children are recorded as born in Brandon. 1901 census...Aged 16, a gamekeeper's assistant, he was still at Town Street, Brandon with his parents (father now William); sister Maud, Millicent, Hilda, and Violet V[4]; brothers Frederick J, Harold S [8] and Reginald A [6] and niece Cathleen W B TRETT [4 months] (no indication of parentage).All the children are recorded as born in Brandon. 1911 census...Aged 26, Percy was a gamekeeper boarding at Southburgh, Shipdham with widow Charlotte Cullyer [62]. His parents (father Joseph William again) were still in Town Street Brandon with his brothers Frederick John (warrener), Harold Stanley (dog trainer) and Reginald Abel (milkman); sister Violet Victoria; sister Hilda Constance and her husband Arthur FOX (married under one year, no children) and a niece, and Eveleyn Elfrida Watkins TRETT [1] recorded as granddaughter of Joseph, but no indication as to parentage. The only documentation linking him with Elveden is "Soldiers Died". However his father Joseph was a carpenter on the Elveden estate |
